Email Address: When you sign up or log in using email magic links, we collect and store your email address. This is essential for identifying you within Hanyu Tales and providing personalized access to your language learning resources, such as stories and saved words.
Google Name and Profile Picture (from Google Sign-In): If you sign in using the Google provider, we also store the name and profile picture associated with your Google account. This is part of the default behavior of Google Sign-In and is not visible to other users.
Session Information: We use JWT tokens to maintain session information during your use of Hanyu Tales. These tokens help verify your identity and keep you logged in as you navigate through different parts of the website.
Usage Data: We collect passive information about how users interact with the website, to credit users with Achievements, understand usage patterns, and improve the platform. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected, and this data is anonymized before analysis. We do not use cookies to track your activity. Additionally, we continue to collect explicitly set information, such as your saved words and bookmarked chapters.
Location Information: To ensure the correct currency is displayed on our platform, we use the IPGeolocation API to determine your general location based on your IP address. This information is used solely for the purpose of setting currency and is not stored or shared with unauthorized parties.
